Hot stamping paper is commonly known as electroplated aluminum in northern my country. It is composed of polyester film (PET) and multiple layers of chemical coatings applied on its surface. The polyester film is usually 12 microns thick. Some of the coatings are used to produce decorative effects, while some are used to control the performance of hot stamping paper. Different coatings are suitable for different substrates. The role of the aluminum layer is to produce a reflective effect. It is formed by the aluminum wire being melted and sublimated at high temperature and condensed on the hot stamping paper under ultra-low vacuum conditions.
